Delta Tau Delta Lodge

As the new kid on the block, the Delta Tau Delta fraternity approached Chapman Harvey with an idea of creating a fraternity that employed design elements unique to those typically found on Greek Circle. Through the use of rustic stone, rough sawn cedar, and metal roof panels, the Delta Tau Delta fraternity lodge achieves a unique presence on Greek Circle.

Inspired by the vernacular architecture found in Central Texas, the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity’s lodge design incorporates strong design elements, such as wrap- around covered porches and volumetric interior spaces. The main gathering space boasts a vaulted exposed pine ceiling, stained concrete floors, and a massive stone fireplace, creating a truly masculine atmosphere. These massive elements are balanced by clerestory lighting, the brightness of the stone color, and the airy nature of the open arbor elements of the porches. In addition to the natural construction materials incorporated in the design, the design was careful to preserve the mature trees that were present on the site, further enhancing the rustic feel of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity Lodge.
