Fire Station #1

Location: Lubbock, Texas

Client: City of Lubbock

Project Completion:  2016

Project Size: 16,808 SF

Total Budget: $4,200,000

Fire Station 1 is a new facility replacing an aging disfunctional facility. This new facility features four bays. It includes dorm rooms for eight fire fighters, three offices and one battalion chief. The attached training facility offers spaces necessary for heavy rescue training operations. In the lobby sits a full-size antique fire truck with open-air seating and a wood ladder connected to the side . Next to it is a large, rusty bell used in the first fire station to alert the crew and the people outside the station of a fire. There’s also an old fire pole in the lobby. This new fire station was designed and built to respect and honor our past, while continuing to improve the services that Lubbock Fire Rescue provides to the community.
